Independent French watch brand AWAKE has launched its new “Son Mai - Silver Leaf” collection to mark its fifth anniversary, celebrating a blend of heritage craftsmanship and Swiss precision. Founded in 2019 by Lilian Thibault, AWAKE has quickly gained recognition for its eco-conscious approach to watchmaking and collaborations with partners like NASA and French artist Nicolas Barrome Forgues. With a renewed visual identity and a commitment to creative evolution, the brand’s latest collection offers a distinctive homage to Vietnam’s traditional lacquer art.

The “Son Mai - Silver Leaf” collection draws inspiration from one of Vietnam’s most renowned artistic practices, where artisans extract sap from the Rhus verniciflua tree to create exquisite lacquer finishes. This meticulous process has been reimagined in four striking colorways, each symbolizing unique emotional and natural elements.

• Outre Bleu (Beyond Blue): Reflects serenity, stability, and peace.
• Lava: A fiery red representing energy, passion, and strength.
• Emerald: A lush green hue evoking renewal and harmony.
• Amethyst: A dep purple blancing tranquility and intensity, as it bridges the spectrum between red and blue.

Each watch in the collection boasts carefully considered specifications: a 39mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.8mm and a lug-to-lug span of 45.6mm. The dials and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility, while the pieces offer 5 ATM (50m) water resistance, ensuring durability in everyday use. Powering the watches is the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, providing an impressive 68-hour power reserve. Complementing the design is a DELUGS unbuckle strap, crafted from grey rubber-lined leather for both comfort and elegance.
